    Do i think cops should be able to search my phone without a warrant? Absolutely not.  My phone is my personal privacy and my 4th amendment right to decline a search without a warrant.When the police as you if they can search something- whether it's your house, your car, or your phone- you always have the right to say no.) (Patricia, 15)  Of course the counter argument could be "but then you can delete anything incriminating between the cops leaving to obtain a warrant and come back!" And to that I have no argument.

      I believe that the phone of a witness or criminal of a crime cannot be searched without a warrant or permission.  If the person so happens to allow the police to gain access to the cellphone then it is their decision.  If no warrant is valid at the time of a requested search then no search should be permitted. "The court understands that digital information  is different than papers and cabinets and lockboxes. (Patricia, 17.) "Courts will not be more likely to rule in favor of greater privacy for digital records.") (Patricia, 17.)  These are quotes that state that courts are in favor of privacy of cellphones. Boom.

American Gov.T problems - Raising Pell Grant - Obaaaama

Obama raised the maximum Pell Grant to $5,500 since 2008.

What Obama is doing with this is increasing our education as Americans.  Which.. we need.  Not everybody, but you know somebody who needs to be a little more educated.  With this, college is becoming slowly more affordable for students.  It encourages students at a young age to do well in high school so you can get into a good college to get a better career.  Now having a second-post degree is a prerequisite for this generation's jobs.  All at a price to afford.  More teachers are being hired to teach more areas of learning to educate a higher percentage of our youth.  Great to help Obama's unemployment rate drop, but not necessarily the best for the youth.  As a student of this generation's youth, I can safely say I've seen some teachers with no ambition to do their job as a teacher and this severely affects how we as a generation are being taught.  Instead of increase the number of teachers, why don't we up the requirements to be a teacher? Then, I think a significant increase of intelligence will be reflected from the youth.

I wouldn't call it "benefiting".  I'd more or less call it "growing up in". Obama is encouraging online learning with technology.  Past generation complains that we are glued to our phone, and we don't know how to do anything without the internet or the "old fashion" style.  But can you blame us?  Look at what we are growing up with, technology is there to do it for us.  I'm not siding with any one here but it's hard make sense out of complaining that technology is ruining the way we as a country function when all we do is enforce it.  We're basically adapting to it and it won't be long till the entire world (disregarding 3rd world countries, you do you) cannot function without technology.  

Electoral college

In order to keep the rich from the poor due to the unbalanced population gap between this 2, the electoral college was created.  Is it fair? No. Does your opinion matter? Of course not! Your voice won't change what the government thinks. Nobody here (maybe Jason Ramos being an exception) are among the extraordinary wealthy or in the government.  But that doesn't stop the electoral college from working time after time.  What this does do, however, is allow small states to get more votes regardless of their lack of population compared to bigger states.

Without the Electoral college, there would be some problems.  With out it, there would not be an immediate out come with the votes.  If popular vote were to be the process of which we decided presidency, our candidates would request for recounts, making the process take much longer than necessary.  One example of where it succeeded was during Bush and Clinton in 1992 not allowing any run offs from potentially happening.

In the movie "Head of State", starring Chris Rock, many interesting points were made during the movie. Chris Rock stars as Mays Gillian, an African American politician on the pursuit to become president.  Mays lives in an under class community and is known for giving a hand to anyone who needs help.  After an unfortunate plane crash that he saw on the tv, forcing the party to find new candidates ASAP.  This party noticed Mays heroic acts of saving the lady and her cat from the exploding house and wanted him to run for president.  Mays goes about this process differently than most would, almost as if mocking the system.  During a fundraiser,  he spices things up and becomes a DJ, getting everybody to dance and have a good time.  Typically having a good time at a fund raiser for political parties is not fun at all.  Most of May's speeches across the country were casual, plain, boring, like most speeches by people who have been in his position, except at the end.  Mays, while shitting a little bit on his apposing candidate, also reaches out to the crowd in front of him as well.  Instead of telling the crowd what the people wanted to hear,  he tells them how he feels and what his real views are.  At the end of the movie where Gillian is in a debate with his competitor, they both have different views, obviously.  They both also come into this debate with very different techniques.  Mays has a playful, joking attitude about the situation but has good points when it comes down to it.  As does his competitor, who comes with a serious attitude, which is normally how things are supposed to be in debates.  One reason why Mays wons this election (aside from it being a movie and fake) could be that Mays dresses more casually, more like the middle and under class, which would probably contribute to him getting over 90% of the underclass (and minority.. i think)'s votes. My opinion is Chris Rock had the better final word, helping him get more votes when he said "god bless not only America, but...." I don't remember the list of countries he said, I think one was Haiti.  At the end of the movie, both of the candidates were posted in front of their TV waiting to see who won.  When it came down to California, Mays Gillian came out on top.

The governor that I would vote for would be Charlie Baker.  Charlie is against making new taxes for the people, forming a better state government and eliminating waste.  While he is not a democrat, he does seem to be wanting to do a lot for the people.  Charlie thinks that they are trying to slowly raise taxes on number 2 when they say that the money would be going towards a good cause.  How do we know where that money is ACTUALLY going? The government might just be looking for a new way to get money out of us.  Baker thinks that small business owners and small business workers would get screwed if question 4 were to pass. Mckyle also pointed out at the end of his blog that Charlie Baker has flow and I'd go so far to even say that that's an understatement,

Honest Abe

     President Lincoln had many difficulties while trying to pass the 13th amendment. Abe had to deal with racism inside the House, such as the cabinet thinking it was a bad idea to abolish slavery.  If slavery was abolished, that would mean that African Americans could vote, own property, rank high in the military, take office, and take white jobs.  Abe was a man of his word, kinda. He was known as "Honest Abe". While this was true in some cases, it was not true in others.  He promised lame duck politicians jobs if they voted to pass the 13th amendment and they did get their jobs.  However, he lied about telling the north the south does not have any peace commissioners. Lincoln believed it was so important to pass the amendment so slavery would be abolished so the war would end. 

     While Lincoln did have a good point on the civil war ending if slavery was abolished, he also had other intentions on his mind about passing the 13th amendment.  He thought that if he were to abolish slavery and allow African Americans to vote he would surely get the majority of the black population next time he runs for president. In the end Lincoln gets assassinated. Sorry if I ruined the ending.

Bonus: Ebola

     A recent issue that news and America has covered is Ebola.  Ebola is a virus that has fatal results if not treated. EVD (Ebola Virus Disease) was first found in 1976 in Yambuku, Dominican Republic of Congo. The disease was named after the river inside the village it came from.

     The disease is transmitted to people from wild animals and from then spreads from human to human as such in various parts of us of a. There are currently no licensed vaccines for Ebola, but there are 2 candidates that are undergoing evaluation.  There are also treatments like immunological and drug therapy under development to treat EVD.

      Early symptoms of Ebola are having a fever, sore throat, muscle pain, and headaches.  Later symptoms would be vomiting, diarrhea and rashes.  If it is not treated immediately fatal consequences such as liver and kidneys not being able to function, internal/external bleeding and even death.
