Petoria, the land of Peter Griffin is an Authoritarian
gov.t, although Peter probably doesn’t know what that means. An Authoritarian gov.t only has one leader,
aka Peter. Peter explained how he cannot
be touched by singing his own version of “Can’t touch me” originally made by MC
Hammer. Peter has diplomatic Immunity so
MC can’t sue him, just as he can do whatever he wants in Petoria without any
consequences. But, as you know, America
likes to step in on anyone’s business that they don’t like. They cut off all of the Griffin’s every day
house-hold requirements for survival.
They basically flushed the Griffin’s out of Petoria with limiting them
to little to none food, water, heat and electricity. Although Peter had gotten
mail from communist leaders such as Castro along with other country rulers,
they did not supply him with military defense against America’s army. Another down side to Petoria is Meg and Chris
couldn’t go to school, not allowing them to get an education. Petoria didn’t last as long as peter had
hoped because he lacked a government entirely, especially the federal
government.

Ratification of the Constitution
Before the states were unified, the 13 states were basically 13 countries. Each state had their own laws, making it hard to get all the states to agree to follow the same set of laws. The anti-federalists believed that citizen's rights and liberties were not emphasized enough with the new gov.T under the constitution. The concerns that the anti-feds had with the constitution had been dealt with by creating the national Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights was made for greater constitutional protection for individual liberties. It also limited the government on their power in fear of a future monarchy. While the federalists argued the constitution did not need a Bill of Rights, the anti-federalists said it was necessary to "safeguard individual liberty."

The failure of the Articles
One issue that occurred while The articles of Confederation were in tact was it gave too much power to the state instead of balancing the power between the federal and the state gov't. The forefathers were scared that too much power in one central gov.t would result in monarchy. Another weakness this article had was the voting method. The article would only discuss something if it was a problem that all 13 states had. If the issue had been discussed, it would need 9 of the 13 votes from the states. The reason why this would never work is because not all the states would attend these meetings, making it really hard to get anything done.
Without a powerful federal gov't or an executive branch the articles were bound to fail. Without the executive branch there's nobody to enforce these acts. The federal gov't didn't didn't have the power to collect citizen's taxes. They also couldn't regulate trade. More abilities that the federal government could do that the states can't is enter treaties with foreign nations and declare war or peace.

No government?
Without the government I don't think America would be at the point we're at today, maybe even the world. As a country we've developed a lot over the past 240 years, to say the least. Thousands of laws have been set in place from California to Maine to allow a stable foundation for future generations to rise from, and that's exactly what we did. If the founding fathers never signed the Declaration of Independence then the America we know and love wouldn't be the same. We may even be driving on the other side of the road. We might have adopted laws from Europe or Canada if we didn't start our own back in the 1700s. Everything that happens within our government effects how we live today, whether their decisions had been accepted and put into place or decline and thrown away.
If America never obtained the nickname "home of the free and opportunity" then my grandparents may never have moved here from Ireland to seek a better place to live. So there's a chance that without the government my parents wouldn't have met and I wouldn't be born.
